3. Add the chopped onion, garlic, and grated ginger and saute for a few minutes until the onions turn translucent.

4. Add chopped tomatoes and cook until they become soft and mushy and then add all the spices – coriander powder, turmeric powder, and red chili powder. Mix well.

5. . Add the soaked kidney beans to the cooker and mix well.

6. Add enough water to cover the beans and mix well.

7. Close the lid of the pressure cooker and let it cook for 3-4 whistles or until the beans are soft.

8. Once you release the pressure from the cooker, open the lid and stir well.

9. Add salt as per your taste and cook for a few more minutes until the dal thickens.

2. Namkeen Chawal Recipe 

Namkeen Chawal is one of the favorite Lunch Recipes of the Indian people. People make this dish on Basant Panchami day. It contains cooked onions, curry leaves, mustard seeds, green chilies, and coriander leaves.

· 1/4 cup coriander leaves, chopped

Instructions:

1. Wash the rice thoroughly in cold water and soak it in water for about 30 minutes.

2. In a pot, heat 2 tbsp of oil and add cumin seeds, mustard seeds, and fennel seeds, and sauté for a few seconds until they start to crackle.

3. Add peanuts, roasted chana dal, and curry leaves and sauté for another minute.

4. Drain the water from the soaked rice and add it to the pot. Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt to taste and mix everything to get the aroma of the spices.

5. Add 2 cups of water and bring it to a boil, reduce the heat to low, and cover the pot with a lid. Let it cook for about 15-20 minutes or until the rice is fully cooked.

6. Once the rice is cooked, turn off the heat and let it cool for a few minutes.

Add chopped green chilies and coriander leaves and mix everything.
